    Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP)
    Deep Cycle Batteries
Looking for a lightweight, non-toxic, and maintenance-free energy storage solution?
    SimpliPhi
deep-cycle Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) batteries are optimized with proprietary cell architecture, power electronics, BMS and assembly methods. They are a drop-in replacement for lead acid batteries, and much safer. LFP is the safest, most environmentally benign LIon chemistry available (see DOCUMENTS tab for LFP Safety Comparison). They are modular, lightweight and scalable for installations that range from kWh to MWh. The batteries provide power security and seamless integration of renewable and traditional sources of energy in conjunction with or independent of the grid: net zero, peak shaving, emergency back-up, portable and mobile.
    Sizing Examples
    - IMPORTANT to pay attention to CURRENT LIMITATIONS.  Never round down the # of batteries needed - you will undersize your system and VOID the warranty.  ALWAYS ROUND UP ON # OF BATTERIES NEEDED:
Example #1: If 1500 Wh of energy is required daily for 3 days without sunshine (days of autonomy), and you have an inverter with 93% efficiency, you calculate 1500 Wh X 3 days/.93/.80 DoD = 6048 Wh battery bank. If you have a 24V system, you could use two (2) of the 3865 Wh 24V SimpliPhi Smart-Tech batteries in parallel for 7730 Wh capacity.  Additional batteries can be added in parallel as your power needs increase.
Example #2: VERY important to be aware of
    MAX Discharge/Charge current,
when sizing your battery bank.  For example on the PHI 3.8 batteries, max discharge = 37.5A.  Multiply by 51.2V (nominal DC voltage of battery) = 1.92kW.  Divide this # by the kW rating of the inverter.  ie. 6.8kW/1.92kW = 3.54.  You need four (4) Batteries.  Additional batteries can be added in parallel as your power needs increase.
NO maintenance, NO cooling, and NO ventilation required!
    INSTALLATION NOTES:
SimpliPhi Smart-Tech Batteries must be wired in parallel only. Wiring in series will VOID the warranty. Wire lengths between the batteries should be identical in length and gauge in order to balance the load across all batteries. 4 AWG is the most commonly used size. See Wiring Guide in DOCUMENTS tab above.
As with any battery technology, do not reverse polarity when installing. Doing so will void the warranty. Use a Digital Multimeter to check polarity before connecting terminals.
As a best practice, it is not recommended to mix and match different capacity batteries (even if the same voltage). The system will work initially, but over time each battery would be running at a different internal C Rate. This leads to the smaller capacity battery wearing faster than the larger one.
    IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please see Simpliphi Intergration Guides for compatible inverters and voltage setpoints for Midnite Solar, Outback Power, Schneider Electric, Magnum and others (ie. NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ALL INVERTERS).
**Schneider Example as explained in Schneider Integration Guide:
“Schneider has a firmware limitation that creates a potential issue with Lithium-Ion batteries: the Low Battery Cut-Out Voltage (LBCO) setting is limited to 48V maximum. This value is below the recommended LBCO settings to maximize cycle-life of most Lithium-Ion batteries including PHI batteries. Per the Warranty, a 48V LBCO corresponds to 100% DoD and maintains a much more limited cycle life. Until Schneider Electric releases updated firmware to adjust this setting above 48V, this issue can be largely mitigated by setting the “Recharge Volts” above the desired LBCO thresholds as outlined in Table 1.0 below. Therefore, systems that do not rely solely on renewable energy (i.e. grid tied systems, AGS systems) will typically start charging the batteries once the recharge voltage level is reached, preventing further discharge of the batteries and thus optimizing cycle-life.”
Cabling is not used to attach between terminals.  See in image that all the cables go directly to the positive and negative bus respectively.
    FEATURES:
Long cycle life -product life expectancy of 15 - 20 years
Modular system allows storage capacity to be easily expandable as power needs increase
Does not require ventilation, cooling, or thermal regulation - eliminating the risks of thermal runaway and heat build-up
Can be stored in freezing temperatures without affecting capacity (ie. arctic installations)
No AC or toxic liquid cooling - negligible parasitic drain
Built-in accessible 80 Amp DC breaker On/Off switch - increases safety and simplifies installations (ie. no need for Disconnecting Combiner Box)
**ONLY available on the PHI 2.9 and PHI 3.8 (not the 1.4)
Proprietary architecture and integrated Battery Management System (BMS) - no additional programming, firmware, or wiring
Compatible with all industry standard 24V or 48V inverters and charge controllers (Integration Guides available for Schneider, Outback, Midnite, Magnum, SMA, and more)
Operates at unparalleled 98% efficiency for more than 5,000 cycles
Can be rack mounted or wall mounted in a dead space area of your home/business

    Everyone’s Solar Profile.
I recently sold my successful solar company that I created around 1992 in the state of Maine.  My solar experience is in site surveys, design, installations, and maintenance of 500 plus clients, specializing in off grid homes, and owning my own off grid home.
Solar is part of my life and the bonus of meeting so many different client’s needs, remains my quest to see more people enjoy their home with solar.
I have taken advantage of my suppliers for the last 25 years to give you the best price I possibly can.  If you don’t find what you need on my site, please tell me what you need, and I will do my best to get it for you.
If you are new to solar and need help, feel free to reach out to me.  I will be more than happy to design a system for your needs.
I normally ship within two days of receiving payment, however if your item is not readily available I will inform you immediately and make the necessary required changes.
    Sincerely
    John Myatt
